Q: Tell us about yourself and Titan Business Solutions?

We are an accounting practice looking after small to medium size businesses in a range of industries.  We offer services that your typical accountant would, plus other things such as bookkeeping and admin, software implementation and support, business coaching and mentoring.  We like to keep our approach casual and friendly so our clients feel comfortable and at ease.  Our team all work from their homes to keep costs down for clients and to keep a good work/life balance.  

I am a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in a range of positions such as bookkeeping, in house accounting and public practice.  So I have an extensive knowledge base and understand what people need from an accountant.  I genuinely care for all of our clients and their businesses, and like to make sure everyone feels informed and comfortable with all of their business and tax needs.  I try not to use too much accounting lingo but sometimes it sneaks in.

Q: What's your favourite and least favourite thing about being a small business owner?

My favourtie thing about our business is that I get to work with my husband everyday.  Just kidding, he told me say that 😁I love the flexibility of being able to work around my lifestyle and to have control over the best way to help clients.  My least favourite thing is that I miss the social side of an office environment which is why I love hanging out at The Business Collective (sorry for always chatting too much!)

Q: What's the best piece of advice you've received and who gave you that advice?

A good friend of mine told me to eat the frog first i.e. do the most difficult/biggest job or thing you don't want to do first thing in the day.  Then the rest of the day won't be so bad and you should be more productive and procrastinate less.

Q: What do you like to do outside of work?

I'm a massive geek and love catching up with friends to play board games.  I also enjoy travelling with my husband and dog, visiting wineries is always a bonus on our trips.  Getting a camper is definitely on the bucket list.
